Ryan Fredericks posts Twitter message after West Ham exit is officially confirmed

Ryan Fredericks has taken to Twitter to post a message after his exit from West Ham United was officially confirmed.

Fredericks, 29, joined the Hammers on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer of 2018 and he arrived at the London Stadium with a big reputation.

Unfortunately for him and West Ham though, he has failed to establish himself at the club.

Fredericks is a really poor defender and he isn’t great going forward either. The 29-year-old has pace in abundance but that’s it. He’s a glorified sprinter really, not a Premier League footballer.

This may all sound rather harsh but there is no room for sentiment in the Premier League. With Fredericks’ contract officially expired, David Moyes made the right call not offering him a new one.

Having said all of that, Fredericks was a consummate pro despite his awful injury record. And it’s sad that things never worked out for him at the London Stadium.

Declan Rice was very good mates with Fredericks as were plenty of other players.

He always put in a shift when required to do so and never got in any off-field trouble, as many players seem to nowadays.

And the ex-Fulham man came across very well with his humble goodbye message to everyone connected with West Ham:

Good man Ryan. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Whether another Premier League club will snap him up or not before the start of next season remains to be seen.
