Rio Ferdinand performs complete 180 once again as he makes West Ham top four prediction

Rip Ferdinand has changed his mind yet again when suggesting that West Ham United could finish inside the top four this season.

The Hammers are currently sitting in fourth spot in the Premier League table.

We are sitting ahead of the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham. All of those teams have games in hand over us though.

In spite of that, they still have to win them! Tottenham have found that out to be easier said than done recently.

David Moyes has worked absolute miracles since taking over at the London Stadium in December 2019.

The Scot led us to a sixth placed finish in the table last season and we are punching above our weight yet again this term. Perhaps we could go one step further and qualify for the Champions League! Who knows…stranger things have happened that’s for sure.

Rio Ferdinand delivers West Ham top four verdict

The former Hammer has made it very clear that his favoured team is Manchester United.

Considering the fact that West Ham are the club that made the former England international, his lack of interest in us now really does seem rather strange.

Rio might have just got himself back in the West Ham fans’ good books though.

He told his Vibe with FIVE podcast:

“I think Moyes has brought a different side to West Ham, they’re resilient. They could be the ones that get there (top four), man, I’m telling you.”

Now, it was only last week when Rio predicted that West Ham would finish in seventh spot in the table, as covered right here on Hammers News.

So his latest prediction is evidence of yet another U-turn from the highly respected pundit!

Hopefully Rio has nailed it with his latest call. West Ham certainly have the ability to gatecrash the top four this season. We will need absolutely everything to go our way, however.

With such a small squad, Moyes cannot afford to lose any of his key players to injury or suspension.

It could happen but we think that a top six finish is a lot more realistic target for West Ham this season.
