West Ham boss David Moyes sold Frederik Alves in January and the centre-back has broken his silence after his London Stadium exit.
The 22-year-old centre-back joined the Hammers from Silkeborg in January for a little over £1 million (WHUFC.com).
Big things were expected of the young Dane at the London Stadium. Things just didn’t work out for him though.

He was sent out on loan to Sunderland during the first-half of this season and failed miserably.

Alves swiftly returned to East London in January before being moved on to Danish side Brondby, surprisingly on a permanent deal.
Moyes allowed Alves to leave West Ham in January
The 22-year-old may well go on to become a top-class centre-back as time goes on and he gains more experience.
Who knows? Perhaps selling him will end up looking like a mistake. It certainly seemed a strange move at the time from David Moyes.
And Frederik Alves’s latest admission makes selling him seem even stranger…
The young Dane sat down for an interview with Ekstra Bladet and suggested that Moyes rated him very highly indeed:

“It was hard to say goodbye to the Premier League. It is a great opportunity to say no to. But it has not been that difficult either, because I see a good opportunity in coming to Brøndby. I chase playing time. I learned a lot from Moyes, with whom I had a lot of conversations – and who was an insanely nice and good coach. He was a defender himself, so he taught me a lot about positioning and how to do it. In our conversations I was told that I was the best of our centre-backs on the ball. It was cool to be told, but I could also see it on the training ground.”
Now, Moyes could have been saying nice things to Alves to make him feel good.
The truth of the matter though is that the Hammers don’t actually have any centre-backs who are very good with the ball at their feet.
Arguably the best out of the bunch is Issa Diop who can’t defend to save his life!
So with that in mind, allowing Alves to leave the London Stadium so soon after signing him does seem like a really strange move from West Ham. Perhaps we have a buy-back clause? If we don’t, and Alves goes on to light it up with Brondy, some serious questions needs to be asked…
