Paul Merson has made an interesting observation about West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen.
Jarrod Bowen has been on fire for West Ham so far this season, with four goals and one assist to his name in just six games.

The 26-year-old has now established himself as one of the two most important Hammers players, alongside Lucas Paqueta.
David Moyes relies so heavily on Bowen now and he is undoubtedly one of his most trusted on-field lieutenants.
However, is he really good enough to go all the way and represent his country at a major tournament? Paul Merson has had his say on the matter…
Paul Merson has noticed a big issue for West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen
When predicting the outcome of the West Ham vs Sheffield United clash this weekend for Sportskeeda, Merson raved about Bowen.
However, Merson did suggest that the Hammers forward doesn’t quite have what it takes to break into the England team:
“I see nothing but a West Ham win here, especially with players like Jarrod Bowen in fine form. I’m a big fan of him and he has shown over the past 12 months that he can step up to the plate in big games, while he works his socks off for his team and is an absolute manager’s dream. The only issue for Bowen is that England have too many players in his position, so he might find it hard to break into the side ahead of Euro 2024.”
I’m not sure I agree with Merson here. If Bukayo Saka is injured, Bowen is surely the only left-footed right winger who can fill in for him isn’t he?
I guess Phil Foden could play there but he doesn’t play there for Manchester City. Meanwhile, Jack Grealish, Marcus Rashford and Eberechi Eze are all better suited out on the left.
I feel like Bowen could definitely force his way into the England squad for the Euros, as long as he continues to produce the goods for West Ham this season.
All he can do is keep doing his best for the Hammers and then see where that takes him.
