Fornals has become a fundamental player in a new-look West Ham under David Moyes.

The midfield ace is loved by West Ham fans and his manager for his infectious attitude, workrate and of course his ability.

The Cockney Carzola should perhaps score more goals with the chances he has. But nobody can doubt Fornals’ quality or question his commitment.

The 26-year-old has his own song which was belted out regularly last season as West Ham enjoyed a memorable European adventure.

Now ahead of what the Hammers hope will be another one, the much-loved midfield star has been speaking to UEFA TV about life at West Ham.

And Fornals has lifted the lid on his best friend at West Ham, the toughest trainer, loving London life but missing home comforts.

Fornals welcomed UEFA TV to West Ham’s Rush Green training ground for an interview.

He revealed he gets to training around 9.15/9.30am each day and travels in his Mercedes.

And he revealed his best friend at West Ham is Michail Antonio when asked which Hammers teammate he would choose to go on holiday with and why.

“Mikey! Michail Antonio, because we understand each other very well, both on and off the pitch, and we have fun together, ” Fornals told UEFA TV.

“(We’d go) anywhere where we can go partying.”

When asked who was the toughest in training at West Ham, Fornals did not have to think for long, replying immediately: “Craig Dawson.”

“(I like) everything (about London). The fact that it is huge and there are always things to see.”

Fornals also chose east end delicacy pie and mash as his favourite English food.

But he admitted he does miss some home comforts.

“(I miss) Food and family (being away from Castellón),” Fornals added.

The West Ham star admitted he is able to get his paella fix in London, though, at Downtown London and Arros QD.

The best advice Fornals was ever given? From his wise grandmother.

“It was my grandma: ‘Life is hard, so you always need to work hard for everything, no matter if you are a footballer or a carpenter’.”

Fornals has certainly followed her advice judging by his performances since signing for West Ham.

The midfielder lists his favourite movie as Gladiator, would choose supersmart intelligence as a superpower and says the home leg victory over Sevilla in last season’s Europa League is his favourite match of his career so far.

“The match against Sevilla at home, it was amazing,” Fornals adds.

Raul’s number seven Spain shirt was the first kit Fornals ever had. He lists Andres Iniesta as the best Spanish player of all time and says he would have loved to have played with former Real Madrid star Guti.

“(I love) the importance of it (football),” Fornals said.

“Sometimes positive, sometimes negative and the power players have to improve the situation going on in a town, a neighbourhood or a country. Although sometimes there is a misuse of that power.”

Fornals says going as far as possible in the Europa Conference League and finishing the season in the European spots are his main goals at West Ham right now.

And how would the Hammer like to be remembered once his career comes to an end?

“(I would like to be remembered) as a guy who gives his very best on the pitch for his team,” Fornals said.

What a guy.
