Tony Gale chose to criticise one West Ham player during our comfortable win over Sheffield United at the London Stadium today.

Hammers boss David Moyes would have been delighted with the performance of his players today and of course, the final result.

However, there was one point in the match where Gale chose to criticise Michail Antonio.
The 33-year-old forward put in his usual all action performance and bagged a great assist for Tomas Soucek’s goal. It wasn’t all good from Antonio though, and Gale let him know about it…
One West Ham player incurred the wrath of Tony Gale during Sheffield United win
Michail Antonio broke through on goal in the 30th minute with James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta either side of him.
However, the former Nottingham Forest man chose to shoot instead, and blazed well wide. Tony Gale criticised Micky for his selfishness:

“He should have got his head up there, he had Ward-Prowse and Paqueta in acres of space but he ignored them both. When you elect to shoot you’ve got to find the back of the net.”
I think that’s fairly harsh from Gale. Sometimes strikers need to be a bit selfish, and Antonio was well within his rights to shoot there as far as I’m concerned.
Decision making is definitely not one of Antonio’s strengths though. And there will be plenty of people who argue that he should have squared the ball to one of his teammates in that particular instant.
However, on the whole, the 33-year-old has been an absolute tower of strength for us over the past eight years.
And his performance on the whole against Sheffield United today really wasn’t bad at all.
