West Ham ace Manuel Lanzini was on fire against Crystal Palace yesterday and the Argentinian took to Instagram to send a message to the club’s fans.

The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on loan from Al Jazira in the summer of 2015. He then made his move to East London a permanent one the following summer.

Lanzini immediately endeared himself to the Hammers faithful with some brilliant performances.

Manu has always been a popular figure at Upton Park and the London Stadium but the ACL injury that he sustained in the summer of 2018 seriously derailed his career.

The diminutive South American play-maker really struggled to find his form again after recovering from injury and if truth be told, he was a shadow of his former self for a good couple of years.

The good news is that Lanzini seems to be back now though. He has been absolutely sensational over the past couple of years.

And perhaps there is a very simple reason as to why the former River Plate ace has rediscovered his form at the London Stadium.

Manuel Lanzini message to West Ham fans

The 28-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to sign off with a new year message:

The most important line from that message is the second from last sentence.

Translated into English, Lanzini says:

“In football, being able to close a very good year, being well and being able to feel important again.”

The fact that the 28-year-old is now a regular starter again under Moyes and is being relied upon to produce the goods consistently has clearly made a big difference to his psyche.

Lanzini obviously feels important again and he is now a key member of the West Ham team once again.

The trust placed in him by Moyes has worked wonders. Long may that continue.

West Ham will be without Said Benrahma for four or five weeks now due to his Africa Cup of Nations commitments. So Lanzini has found form at just the right time.
