Michail Antonio has absolutely raved about his West Ham United teammate Craig Dawson, labelling him as ‘unbelievable’ and ‘quality’.

The 31-year-old originally joined the Hammers on a season-long loan from Watford in October 2020 at a cost of just £1 million. West Ham then made his move to the London Stadium a permanent one for a further £3 million in the summer of 2021 (The Sun).

£4 million for the no-nonsense, tough-tackling centre-back now seems like an absolute bargain.

David Moyes received plenty of stick when he signed Dawson but the centre-back has silenced all of his critics.

A sign of how far he has come is that if Angelo Ogbonna returned to full fitness tomorrow, he wouldn’t be taking Dawson’s place in the team right now.

The ex-Watford man has been in truly incredible form of late and he has even improved his range of passing. Is there any limit to this great man’s potential??

The 31-year-old is hugely popular amongst the London Stadium faithful. David Moyes clearly loves him too, as do his teammates.

Michail Antonio raves about ‘unbelievable’ Craig Dawson

The West Ham hitman is obviously a huge fan of the centre-back.

Antonio lavished praise on Dawson, when speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast:

“He’s been unbelievable, he’s been a rock at the back, he’s like an old-school centre-half. He’s tough, he fights, he’s solid, he’s not scared to get down and deep, he’s been quality and he’s been solid for us. He came in not really to play, he’s taken his opportunity he’s taken his shirt and he’s not giving it up.”

It is truly unbelievable how Dawson has established himself as a cult hero at West Ham in such a short period of time.

In fact, calling him a cult hero just doesn’t do him justice. The 31-year-old is a truly top-class centre-half.

Dawson is reliable, hard-working and he doesn’t take any prisoners.

Antonio was speaking for everyone when he waxed lyrical about super Craig yesterday.
