Johnny Heitinga absolutely raved about one West Ham United player in particular seven months ago.

West Ham boss David Moyes managed the Dutchman during his time in charge of Everton many years ago.

And it came completely out of the blue two days ago when Heitinga, 39, was announced as one of Moyes’s new assistants at the London Stadium.

He was very highly rated in Holland as a potentially really bright up and coming young manager. So his addition to the Hammers coaching staff is definitely a really exciting one.

And the 39-year-old said something back in February that will excite the West Ham fans even more…

Johnny Heitinga thinks West Ham have a player with ‘exceptional qualities’ amongst our ranks

The new Hammers assistant managed Mohammed Kudus during his time in charge of Ajax:

Back in February when Heitinga was interim manager of Ajax, he absolutely raved about the Ghanaian, as quoted by Voetbal Primeur:

“He plays with a lot of confidence. We know he has exceptional qualities. It is up to me and the staff to make him even better, especially without the ball. With the ball he can pass a man, create a surplus, provide assists and score. I think we can be happy that Kudus plays for Ajax.”

Well Heitinga and the Hammers fans can now be pleased that Kudus plays for West Ham!

I for one cannot wait to see the 23-year-old in action for the Hammers. He has absolutely everything that we have been lacking over the past 12 months, and I have no doubts whatsoever that he’ll be a huge player for us over the next few years.

Johnny Heitinga obviously knows Kudus inside out, and having him on board will undoubtedly help the Ghanaian settle into life at the London Stadium.

It seems like everything is starting to come together doesn’t it!
