David Moyes says West Ham have suffered a huge setback with the recent absences of Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson.
The Hammers beat Anderlecht in midweek in the Europa Conference League, but the night didn’t pass without incident.
Kurt Zouma missed the game through illness, whilst Craig Dawson had to leave the pitch with a dead leg.
Meanwhile, Angelo Ogbonna went off with a hamstring complaint as well!

West Ham had a similar central defensive injury crisis at the start of the season, and it seems like history is repeating itself…
David Moyes has highlighted huge West Ham setback
The Hammers drew with Southampton yesterday, and had to play four full-backs in the form of Aaron Cresswell, Emerson, Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal.
It was a shame because had Moyes had a full compliment of players to choose from, he surely would have set his side up with more attacking intent.
A point on the road is never too bad though, and we move on to Liverpool.
Moyes addressed the media yesterday and responded when asked about his current central defensive problems, as quoted by Football.London:

One’s got an injury and one’s got an illness so we’ve had to go without them. Obviously, we’ve got no Nayef Aguerd at the moment so we were rocked terribly from an injury in midweek. It’s really set us back from how we want to play.
West Ham travel to Anfield on Wednesday night to take on a resurgent Liverpool side.
So we really could do with having one or two out of Zouma, Dawson and Ogbonna back and available for selection.
The Hammers are now sitting comfortably in mid-table again after a woeful start to the 2022/23 season.
West Ham face games against Liverpool away, Bournemouth at home, Manchester United away, Crystal Palace at home and Leicester at home in the Premier League before the World Cup break. Nine points has to be the target from those matches.
In order to achieve that though, Moyes will need his best players fit and available for selection.
David Moyes has labelled the current West Ham central defensive crisis as a big setback. Let’s hope that it doesn’t end up costing us too dearly though.
