It’s just gone from bad to worse for West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta with another blow after gambling accusations.

Yesterday, news broke that the 25-year-old is being investigated by the FA over potential betting breaches.

The news came as somewhat of a shock for the Hammers fans. The Brazilian was in talks over a move to Manchester City at the time.

That deal has collapsed for obvious reasons. And now things have gone from bad to worse for Paqueta…

The former Lyon man has just had salt rubbed into his gaping wounds.

Paqueta has now being dropped from the Brazil squad according to Globo Esporte, although that call is apparently more to do with the manager taking him out of the limelight…apparently.

The thing that we all having to remember here is that he has to be classed as innocent until proven guilty. Some will say there’s no smoke without fire but this one needs to play out before Paqueta can be judged one way or another.

There is never a dull day supporting West Ham is there.

Hopefully this story has a happy ending for West Ham and Lucas Paqueta – the accusations of gambling will be hard for him to shake and move on from, even if he is cleared of any wrong doing.

And the fact that he’s been dropped from the Brazil squad is evidence that he has already been adversely affected by the claims that emerged yesterday.
