Gianluca Scamacca has struggled to showcase his true ability during the early stages of his career with West Ham United.
Hammers boss David Moyes brought the 23-year-old striker to the London Stadium from Sassuolo in the summer for around £35.5 million, including add-ons (Sky Sports).
Scamacca is obviously a huge talent.
Paris Saint-Germain tried to hijack West Ham’s move to sign him according to Fabrizio Romano.

So that really does tell us all we need to know.
The West Ham fans know the deal. We’re not pressuring the Italian one little but and will give him the time that he needs to settle down in England. As long as he gives 100 per cent, that’s all we ask. It seems as though the Italian media believe that Scamacca is already being written off by some though…
West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca compared to Simone Zaza
Italian publication Calcio Mercato have bizarrely claimed that some Hammers fans have already written Scamacca off, even comparing him to Simone Zaza.
What a load of old rubbish.
No West Ham fan in their right mind will have compared Scamacca to the 31-year-old ex-Hammers flop.
Slaven Bilic brought Zaza to the London Stadium from Juventus in 2016 on a season-long loan. We had an obligation to make that a permanent deal for around £25 million, if he played a certain number of games (The Guardian).
The Italian was so poor for West Ham though that Bilic didn’t even allow the striker to get close to the amount of games required to make his loan deal permanent.

Zaza failed to score or register an assist in 11 appearances for West Ham.
He was nowhere near good enough technically or physically to play Premier League football.
Let’s get something straight though, Gianluca Scamacca is on a completely different level to West Ham flop Simone Zaza.
We’ve already seen enough from the 6ft 5in hitman to know that he will come good for the Hammers.
And the fact that Calcio Mercato are suggesting that some West Ham fans are already comparing Scamacca to Zaza is just plain wrong.
The 23-year-old will undoubtedly go on to become a superb signing for West Ham.
