'I could see it happening': Dimitar Berbatov makes shock West Ham prediction

Dimitar Berbatov has made a really bold prediction about West Ham ahead of our clash with Burnley this afternoon.

The Hammers head to Turf Moor this afternoon for the 2pm kick-off and a win will be absolutely vital.

Champions League football next season is starting to look like a very real prospect for West Ham.

If we are going to reach the promised land though, nothing less than three points will be acceptable against Burnley.

David Moyes has worked wonders since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019.

West Ham are a proper team now. Today’s trip to Burnley will be a real test of just how far we have come though.

The Hammers are favourites to win the game at Turf Moor today.

The Clarets will represent a really stern test, however, and Moyes’s men must be absolutely on it if we are to head back to East London with maximum points.

Berbatov believes that West Ham could slip up against Burnley today, however.

He told the Metro:

“Burnley are in trouble and they need to get some wins from somewhere. West Ham are absolutely flying and they had a great results against Chelsea last weekend. Surprises do happen in the Premier League and with West Ham playing on Thursday night, I could see one happening here.”

Prediction 2-1

Berbatov has a point – playing on Thursday and then Sunday really isn’t easy.

We disagree with his score prediction, however. Burnley winning the game would be a shock result considering their poor form this season. Meanwhile, the West Ham boys will be flying high after our tremendous win against Chelsea last weekend.

And we think Moyes’s men will pull out a big result today at Turf Moor. We’re going for a 2-1 Hammers win.
