The 28-year-old Argentinian ace seems to be back to his absolute best.
It’s been a long time coming!
Lanzini suffered a serious knee injury back in the summer of 2018 whilst on international duty with Argentina. When he returned to action, he was an absolute shadow of his former self.
The former River Plate man was clearly suffering with a lack of confidence. He slipped down the pecking order at the London Stadium as his form deteriorated.

The South American felt less important and wasn’t really part of the Hammers squad…certainly not the starting XI.
Lanzini has rediscovered his best stuff over the past month or so, however. And his display against Crystal Palace on Saturday was arguably his best since he returned from injury.
Rice raves about West Ham teammate
Declan Rice admitted that he is a huge fan of Manuel Lanzini when speaking to West Ham United’s official website.
The 22-year-old suggested that the 28-year-old is a unique talent who can do things that nobody else at the London Stadium can:

“It was a great goal. He touched it on his right and brought it back on his left and it was a great finish. Manu is a special, special player and probably nobody else in the team would have been able to manoeuvre the ball that quick. For him to get another two goals, I’m delighted for him.”
Lanzini will have a key role to play for West Ham between now and the end of the season. Especially over the next month or so with Said Benrahma away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria.
The 28-year-old has proven that he has plenty still to offer the Hammers.
Having our little diamond back is great news for everyone at the London Stadium.

Hopefully this is just the start of the Lanzini rebirth and there’s plenty more to come from the diminutive play-maker.
