Declan Rice absolutely raved about West Ham ace Said Benrahma when speaking to the club’s official website yesterday.

The 26-year-old Hammers attacker played his last game for the club for at least four weeks on Saturday.

He will now head off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria.

And West Ham will undoubtedly miss Benrahma during his absence. The Algerian wizard has been very good for the Hammers this season.

More consistency is undoubtedly required but overall, the former Brentford man has impressed this season.

Since David Moyes brought Benny to the London Stadium, there have been question marks about his decision making and end product.

The 26-year-old has answered this questions this season, however, with eight goals and and four assists in 28 games for West Ham in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

West Ham ace Declan Rice a huge fan of Benrahma

The 22-year-old Hammers ace is the most important player at the London Stadium. So when he speaks, people listen.

And Rice explained just how impressive Benrahma has been this season in training:

“I think he’s a player who needs confidence to perform. He’s one you need to put your arm around and make him feel like he’s the best player. In training he’s always on fire and in games you always see glimpses of magic from him.”

Benrahma has exceptional talent and he is capable of changing a game at the drop of a hat.

We would actually like to see the Algerian be more positive in his play. He should be taking players on more rather than turning round and passing backwards. He has the ability to do it, that’s for sure.

Having bagged two goals and an assist in his last three games, however, the 26-year-old should be flying high on confidence.

Hopefully he enjoys a successful AFCON with Algeria and returns to the London Stadium next month determined to finish the season off in fine fashion.

Benrahma is clearly a truly elite player. We just need to see more of what he has to offer on a consistent basis now.
