David Moyes should spring a surprise on Liverpool by bringing West Ham ace Said Benrahma into the lineup for this evening’s huge game.
The Hammers head to Anfield to take on Liverpool for what is a truly massive game for both teams.
Jurgen Klopp has built an incredible squad of players since taking over as Reds manager in 2015.
If West Ham just sit back and try to soak up the pressure against Liverpool we will undoubtedly be in for a real hiding.
We think that David Moyes needs to mix things up tactically at Anfield today and perhaps from a personnel perspective as well…
West Ham should start ‘game-changer’ against Liverpool
Michail Antonio has been incredibly poor over the past few months. However, there have been signs recently that he is returning to somewhere near his best.
Perhaps this is the ideal match for him to sit out though. We have some hugely important games coming up and Moyes will not have any chances to rest Micky.
Today, we have absolutely nothing to lose. Everyone expects us to get a hammering at Anfield. So why not try something different?
Said Benrahma has been somewhat of a pariah figure at the London Stadium over the past few months. His form took a nose-dive after he returned from AFCON.
The Algerian’s confidence is clearly at rock bottom and he is a player who thrives on feeling good. So what better way to give him a huge confidence boost than starting him at Anfield today in place of Antonio.
The 26-year-old certainly has the ability to play a key role for West Ham against Liverpool.
Moyes could play Jarrod Bowen through the middle with Benrahma and Manuel Lanzini slotted in behind him.
West Ham will need to be very clever an intricate with our passing in the final third, if we are to unlock the stubborn Liverpool backline.
The Algerian ace possesses the quality needed to do exactly that. Sure, bringing Benrahma in for Antonio might not be the change that every West Ham fan wants to see. But we just feel that it would throw a curveball at Liverpool.
And if the worst comes to worst and Benny doesn’t perform, then Moyes can just bring him off and replace him with Michail Antonio. A fresh Micky bearing down on the Liverpool backline for the final 20 minutes or so could be a really useful weapon for the Hammers.
Whether Moyes is brave enough to make the call to start Benrahma at Anfield today remains to be seen though.
