Most of our fine form has been down to the excellent summer recruitment from Moyes – none more so than Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.

“Now they play all different days. We’ve got Edson Alvarez who we don’t think we’ll get him back until late Thursday afternoon. It’s the same for a lot of clubs. We’ve just got to get on with it. But I’ve got to say, it will be really tough to get them back from those trips and then get them ready to play on the Saturday.”

Alvarez will be playing for Mexico during the early hours of tomorrow morning against Uzbekistan out in Atlanta, Georgia.

Considering traveling time, he won’t be back until Thursday afternoon at the earliest, as Moyes alluded to.

That certainly isn’t ideal with a huge game against Manchester City to come on Saturday.

Let’s just hope that Edson Alvarez returns from international duty in good shape, because we desperately need him to be at his very best against Man City, if we are going to have any chance whatsoever of stopping the juggernaut that is the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup holders.
