David Moyes sacked today? West Ham insider issues major update after overnight speculation on manager's future

A West Ham insider has issued a major update after overnight speculation on the manager’s future which claimed David Moyes faces the sack.

Moyes is facing intense pressure for the first time since his return to West Ham in 2020.

After five defeats in the opening seven Premier League games and just two wins in their last 14 across this season and last, many are beginning to question whether the Scot has taken West Ham as far as he is able.

West Ham go into October in the relegation zone and their points per game ratio over the last 10 months is in the bottom three of the league with just 37 from 34.

Many feel Moyes has plenty of credit in the bank and deserves time to turn things around after spending £170m reshaping West Ham’s squad.

Others point to the fact this poor form is no flash in the pan given there has been the worrying tail off since last November.

There have been accusations that the West Ham boss simply cannot handle a big squad.

And many point to his doomed spell at Man United as evidence.

A 1-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday has ramped up the pressure on West Ham and Moyes.

And last night rumours began to circulate on social media that Moyes faces the sack today (Tuesday).

The talk appears to have originated from a faked update which had some fans fooled.

So does Moyes really face the sack today? A West Ham insider has now issued a major update after overnight speculation on the manager’s future.

And the insider has rubbished the speculation, stating that Moyes is “100 per cent safe” no matter what happens.

ClareandHugh has learned there are no plans either now or in the future to sack him,” Claret and Hugh report having spoken to a West Ham insider.

“The board has 100 per cent certainty there is no one else more capable than him of turning things around at the club and he will be given plenty of time to prove them right…

“A key London Stadium source made it clear to CandH that the manager was “100 per cent safe” in his job as there is ‘nobody out there better equipped to turn things around’.”
