A rumour has begun to circulate that David Moyes could resign as West Ham United manager.

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, David Moyes is prepared to walk away from West Ham due to differing recruitment strategies between him and new director of football Tim Steidten.

The summer transfer window has been an incredibly frustrating one for the Hammers fans so far. We lost Declan Rice to Arsenal, Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta and allowed Manuel Lanzini to leave on a free transfer.

Tensions between Moyes and Steidten were reaching boiling point by all accounts.

However, I just don’t believe that rumours of Moyes being prepared to walk away from the London Stadium are true…

The Hammers have already signed Edson Alvarez from Ajax for around £35 million.

And we’re on the cusp of bringing in James Ward-Prowse from Southampton for £30 million (Daily Mail) and Manchester United ace Harry Maguire for £30 million as well (The Athletic).

Those two players are clearly Moyes signings.

They are highly experienced with bundles of Premier League appearances under their belts, and we all know that that is exactly what Moyes was after this summer.

So if he is being allowed to call the shots with transfers of that magnitude, walking away from the club would make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I think that the David Moyes rumour carries no weight at all.

After a slow start to the window, things are finally looking up for West Ham. And if Moyes makes two or three more top-class signings, we could actually be in for a really good season.
