David Moyes should make Craig Dawson decision after international break.
The 31-year-old has proven to be a very useful addition for the Hammers.
Dawson moved to the London Stadium from Watford on loan this time last year and his move was made permanent in the summer for around £3 million (The Sun).
He was an absolute warrior for West Ham last season and played a key role in our sixth placed finish in the Premier League table and subsequent qualification for European football.
Sure, he’s not the most technically gifted of footballers. But the heart, passion and desire that he shows is second to none. We’d take that over someone who’s easy on the eye any day of the week.
Dawson didn’t make the best start to the season with shaky performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
He hasn’t put a foot wrong since, however, during his appearances against Southampton, Manchester United in the Carabao Cup and Rapid Vienna in the Europa League.
David Moyes’s team just look so much more solid and well-organised at the back when he is playing.
David Moyes should make Craig Dawson decision after international break
West Ham face a tricky trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton after this round of international fixtures.
And there is a genuine argument to be made for Dawson’s inclusion in the team for that game.
Angelo Ogbonna has been brilliant for the Hammers over the past couple of years. He was very poor against Brentford on Sunday, however, and was far from his best at Leeds the week before.
Perhaps Dawson should be drafted back in. Everton play direct football under Rafa Benitez and there aren’t many better in the air than Craig Dawson.
Salomon Rondon is a right handful and if he plays, Dawson will be the ideal man to deal with him.
Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna will undoubtedly be our most used centre-back partnership this season. In spite of that, there will be certain times and places for Dawson to be given his chance.
And we think that Everton away on October 17th is the perfect time for Dawson to be drafted in.
