West Ham target Nayef Aguerd kept Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar quiet yesterday as Stade Rennais beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-0.
The Hammers were heavily linked with a move to sign the 25-year-old centre-back for around £17 million during the summer transfer widow (GFFN).
David Moyes ended up bringing Kurt Zouma to the London Stadium from Chelsea instead.
It will be interesting to see whether West Ham go back in for Aguerd either in January or next summer, however.
He has made a hugely impressive start to the season.
In nine Ligue 1 appearances for Stade Rennais so far this season, Aguerd has averaged one interception, 4.6 clearances and 0.9 blocks per game. He has also won 2.7 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).
The Morocco international has made 71 passes per game on average and recorded an impressive completion rate of 91.9% (Who Scored).
West Ham target Nayef Aguerd kept Messi Mbappe and Neymar quiet
The 25-year-old reached new heights yesterday with an absolutely magnificent display against the mighty Paris Saint-Germain.
Aguerd totally dominated PSG’s famous front three and helped his side pick up a memorable 2-0 win against the Ligue 1 giants.
The Stade Rennais ace certainly has the quality and more importantly the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.
If he is still available for just £17 million in January, West Ham should not think twice about signing him.
Especially after his masterclass against Messi, Mbappe and Neymar yesterday!
