David Moyes praised Tomas Soucek for his ‘much improved’ performance for West Ham against Wolves yesterday afternoon.
The 27-year-old has been in really poor form for the Hammers over the past few months.

Before yesterday’s game against Wolves at the London Stadium, Soucek had scored only three Premier League goals this season.
Last term, the Czech Republic international bagged 10 goals in 38 Premier League games. He was a hugely influential figure for West Ham but he just hasn’t had that kind of impact on the team this season.
Soucek returned to somewhere near his best yesterday, however. He scored the winning goal against Wolves and now has four to his name in 25 Premier League games (Transfermarkt).
Hopefully we have the old Soucek back for the remainder of the season because we really need him if we are to challenge for the top four.
Moyes praises Soucek after West Ham beat Wolves
The Hammers looked so much better yesterday at the London Stadium.
We were much more like our old selves and hopefully the 1-0 win against Wolves will be the start of a really good run of form.
David Moyes spoke to reporters after the game yesterday and praised Soucek for his much improved performance, as quoted by Football.London:
“He has four now, so I am not putting ten beyond him, he got ten last year and had a great season so I am hoping that gives him confidence, I thought he played better today, his whole performance was better as well. It is the performances I am after, I am looking for improvements and I thought today was a much improved performance.”
It is worth remembering that Soucek has had to evolve this season in order to allow Declan Rice to become more of a box-to-box midfielder.
The 27-year-old is now the player who is expected to sit in front of the back four and that has rendered him totally ineffective over the past few months.
Hopefully yesterday’s display was evidence that he is slowly adapting to his new role for West Ham though.
And if he can chip in with another four or five important goals or so during our final 11 games this season, the Hammers will have a good chance of finishing inside the top six once again.
