West Ham United manager David Moyes has absolutely raved about Manuel Lanzini when speaking to the media.

The 28-year-old Hammers ace has been in sensational form over the past month or so.

Lanzini has six goals and three assists to his name in 27 games for West Ham this term (Transfermarkt).

It really does seem like the old Manu is back.

His brilliant performance’s have been so good to watch considering the problems he’s faced over the past three years or so trying to come back from the horror injury he sustained in the build up to the World Cup in 2018.

We always knew Manu had the quality but whether he would ever show it again on a consistent basis was another matter entirely. It’s clear and obvious to see that we have our little diamond back though.

David Moyes raves about Manuel Lanzini

The Argentinian ace has made a huge difference for West Ham during tight games since the turn of the year. None more so than on Tuesday night against Watford.

Lanzini was introduced as a second-half substitute and made a killer pass into Jarrod Bowen who subsequently put us 1-0 up.

It was the first time in the game that anyone had broken the lines. Thank God for Manu!

Moyes was speaking to reporters and labelled Lanzini as the difference maker, as quoted by Football.London:

“We got better as the game went on and Lanzini made a difference when he came on. Even for the goal, it was one of the first passes to pass through the lines, and Jarrod turned and gave himself a chance in a shooting position.”

Before the start of this season, many of the West Ham fans had written Lanzini off as someone who could make a difference for us in the Premier League.

It had been so long since any of us had seen the 28-year-old at his very best. The injury that he suffered way back in 2018 was obviously incredibly hard to come back from, both physically and mentally.

Hats off to Manu. The former River Plate ace has made a huge difference for the Hammers when we needed him most this season.

Hopefully he continues to go from strength to strength. It’s clear to see that Lanzini still has a huge role to play for West Ham United.
