Hammers right-back Ben Johnson has absolutely raved about his West Ham United teammate Thilo Kehrer.

After moving to the London Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain for around £10 million in the summer, the 25-year-old has been one of the Hammers’ best player so far this season.

Kehrer actually made an inauspicious start to life at West Ham, after he gave a penalty away against Brighton during his Premier League debut.

Since then though, he has gone from strength to strength. And I believe that he will get even better when he starts playing consistently as a right-back, when Nayef Aguerd comes back into the side.

Kehrer is a 22-capped Germany international – that tells you all you need to know about his quality. And one of his teammates has just absolutely raved about him…

Ben Johnson lauds West Ham teammate Thilo Kehrer

The 26-year-old German has made a huge difference to David Moyes’s side since he arrived at the London Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Johnson has been discussing the new-found competition for places at the club.

And the 22-year-old Hammers ace told WHUFC.com just how impressed he has been by Kehrer so far:

We lost some great lads at the end of last year but we’ve replaced them, fantastically, with some great lads from different nations. One who comes to mind is Thilo Kehrer, who has come from PSG with a big stature and the players that we’ve got this year are very good. They are internationals, which enhances training, and pushes the direction of where we want to go. Hopefully we can continue to get better as the season goes on.

Kehrer has clearly impressed his new teammates as well as the fans.

He is a top quality player but he gives absolutely everything every time he steps on the pitch as well. And that is what makes him so popular at the London Stadium.

Kehrer has all of the attributes needed to succeed in the modern game.

The Germany international has demonstrated his blistering pace regularly during his fledgling West Ham career to date.

The 26-year-old is also a really tenacious tackler and has great energy.

We’re delighted that David Moyes brought Kehrer to the London Stadium in the summer.
