Those comments did seem to be a bit strange from the Italian. However, Scamacca did insist that he is happy at West Ham at the end of that interview.
I just feel like he still has so much to give, and if Hammers boss David Moyes slightly tweaked his system, the former Sassuolo man could well flourish.

Anton Ferdinand shares what Declan Rice told him about West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca
Ferdinand was hosting his his bother Rio’s Vibe with Five YouTube show last night, and opened up on what Rice told him about Scamacca’s quality:

“At the start of the season when he came, I was doing the Europa Conference League games and Dec and Cresswell weren’t playing. I was asking both of them about Scamacca before the game and both of them went ‘wow, what a player, the way he strikers the ball and his confidence in his ability’.”
I totally agree with Dec’s assessment of Scamacca. He has so much ability, and could be such a big player for us.
If Moyes changes his tactics and gets his wingers playing in closer to the Italian, I truly believe we would see the best of him.
Whether the Scot is prepared to do that remains to be seen though.
Judging by what Declan Rice thinks of Gianluca Scamacca, Moyes should seriously considering changing his system at West Ham, in order to get the best out of the Italy international.
