West Ham United attacker Andriy Yarmolenko was in action for Ukraine yesterday afternoon and scored a very unusual goal during the World Cup qualifier.

The West Ham ace was in action for his country against Finland in a World Cup qualifying clash.
He is a completely different player for his country than he is for the Hammers.
And he proved that once again yesterday with a tremendous strike during his country’s 2-1 win away in Finland.
Andriy Yarmolenko scores very unusual goal for Ukraine
Yarmo scored an absolute beauty from outside the box. Nothing unusual about that of course.
What was very strange, however, was the fact that it came from the 31-year-old’s right boot!
Yarmolenko has scored 197 goals for club and country…and only 24 of those have come from his right foot (Transfermarkt)! So only 12% of his career goals have been scored with his right foot…quite incredibly really.

Hopefully his goal for Ukraine yesterday gives him some much needed confidence ahead of his return to the London Stadium.
We could really do with Yarmolenko finding some form this season to provide stiffer competition for Jarrod Bowen.

He clearly has the talent and ability. Whether David Moyes is prepared to give him a chance or not, however, remains to be seen.
