Newcastle will already be missing key man Bruno Guimaraes for Saturday’s Premier League clash with West Ham at St James’ Park.

The Brazil international was sent-off last night for Newcastle against Southampton in the Carabao Cup, meaning that he is suspended for this weekend’s clash with the Hammers.

That in itself is great news for West Ham. Bruno is arguably the Magpies’ best player, and he totally dictates the tempo of the game for Eddie Howe’s side.

The 25-year-old being unavailable for Saturday’s game is a massive boost for the Hammers but terrible news for Newcastle at the same time.

And if the latest reports are true, Howe could be without another one of his key players for the huge Premier League game against the Irons…

Newcastle could be missing another key player for West Ham clash

According to the Shields Gazette, Alexander Isak is a big doubt for the Hammers game having been taken off last night following a blow to the head.

The 23-year-old striker joined the Toon for £60 million in the summer from Real Sociedad (Transfermarkt).

Despite his season being marred by injuries, Isak has really impressed when he has played for Newcastle, scoring three goals in nine games thus far (Transfermarkt).

Having him unavailable on Saturday will be a massive blow for the Magpies. Eddie Howe does have Callum Wilson and new signing Anthony Gordon to call upon of course.

Still though, ask the West Ham defenders who they would prefer to play against out of those three Newcastle forwards, and I’m pretty sure none of them would say Isak.

The Hammers desperately need a result this week against the Toon.

And maybe, just maybe, fate is conspiring in our favour ahead of the Newcastle clash.
