West Ham are already safe from relegation this season say Sky Sports after a deep dive into Premier League statistics.
West Ham have taken a giant leap towards Premier League survival with their results since the March international break.
Wins over Southampton, Fulham, the comeback draw against Arsenal and the 4-0 victory away at Bournemouth has lifted the Hammers up to 13th on 34 points.
And West Ham also boast the best goal difference in the bottom nine, which could effectively be worth an extra point.
Many feel West Ham look all but safe now with a month of the season remaining.
The “magic” 40-point mark is always considered the target needed to ensure safety in the Premier League.

West Ham already safe from relegation say Sky Sports after deep dive into Premier League statistics
West Ham are the solitary exception to that rule having been relegated on what remains a record 42 points.
So Hammers fans can be forgiven for thinking there is still work to do.
Indeed that is exactly the message manager David Moyes is putting out to his players.
But West Ham are already safe from relegation say Sky Sports after a deep dive into Premier League statistics.
During The Football Show on Sky Sports News on Tuesday, reporter Mark McAdam and host Rob Wotton took a look at the relegation picture.
And there was good news for the Hammers.

Hammers must look to keep this momentum regardless
Armed with some in-depth stats from previous Prem seasons, the duo showed that 33.8 points is the average needed to secure safety in recent times.
It was also suggested that figure looks highly likely – based on remaining fixtures and points tallies from the same stage in previous seasons – to be sufficient for the current campaign.
“The big question I guess is how many points will be needed to stay up, could this be the lowest ever?” Wotton said.
McAdam then showed the number of points needed to stay in the Premier League in each of the last five seasons going back to 2017/18.
It showed the average to be 33.8 with McAdam suggesting Bournemouth – on 33 points – need one more result and suggesting those above them are all but safe already.
Points needed to stay in the Premier League
2021/22 – 36
2020/21 – 29
2019/20 – 35
2018/19 – 35
2017/18 – 34
With West Ham now on 34 points after the Bournemouth win, that is great news for Moyes and his players.
But everyone connected with the club will be pushing to finish as strongly as possible to keep momentum for the bid to win the Europa Conference League.
