Fans have slammed MOTD’s pathetic 26-word West Ham analysis lasting 10 seconds of the 90-minute show after the win over Sheffield United.

West Ham got back to winning ways in the Premier League when they beat Sheffield United 2-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Sheffield United’s 8-0 defeat last weekend was always going to make this a difficult game for the Hammers in many respects.

Because West Ham fans turned up in expectant mood whereas the Blades were determined not to be embarrassed again.

West Ham took a 2-0 lead into half-time and it made for a dull second half.

But the Hammers did produce a moment of magic with one the the team goals of the season so far when Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring.

You wouldn’t know it watching BBC’s Match of the Day, though. West Ham were of course the last game on the programme.

Imagine if Arsenal, Man City or Brighton had scored that team goal?

Instead of praising the brilliant, incisive one and two-touch passing move which set up Bowen’s lethal opener, pundit Micah Richards focused on Blades left-back Luke Thomas’ failure to track the West Ham goalscorer.

West Ham’s superb team goal was described by Richards as a “basic mistake” on Sheffield United’s part.

Imagine if Brighton, Arsenal or Man City had score that goal. We would not stop hearing about it for the next week.

In fact MOTD’s expert analysis was a whole 10 seconds of a show lasting more than one and a half hours.

And it was a full 26 words long.

Pathetic analysis panned by fans but perhaps it is best the Hammers fly under the radar?

Here it is in case you sneezed and missed it:

Gary Lineker: “West Ham, though, going well?”

Alan Shearer: “13 points, yea. And his 900th game, what a career he’s had David Moyes.”

Lineker: “Yea absolutely fantastic.”

Shearer: “Clean sheet as well.”

Lineker: “Indeed.”

Riveting stuff lads. Thanks for your expert insight.

West Ham fans have understandably been slamming the woeful analysis on social media, forums and message groups.

But perhaps it is best the Hammers fly under the radar of the “big six” sycophantic mainstream football media.
