West Ham United fans will be hugely excited by Ollie Scarles statement after he signs new long-term contract.

The talented 17-year-old youngster signed a new professional contract with the Hammers a couple of days ago (WHUFC.com).

David Moyes will be delighted that he has tied Scarles down, considering the fact that so many youngsters have left the London Stadium in recent times, including the likes of Sonny Perkins and Aji Alese.

Scarles seems to be like a truly special talent. He wowed during his first-team debut against FCSB in the Europa Conference League last month.

The teenager is actually a central midfielder by trade but he operated as a left wing-back against the Romanian side.

He has pace, power, unbelievable technique and such a mature head on him, given his tender years.

I feel like I’m exceeding my plan that I have here,. But I’m so thankful to the coaches around me. I’ve tried to put in 100 per cent every single day, work hard and do things right both on and off the pitch. I’m just grateful to everyone around me like my coaches and my parents, who have all pushed me to be even better every single day. There’s definitely a step up. It’s different and it’s difficult, but I feel like I’ve coped with it okay. You’ve got the physical aspect too, which is a different experience, but at the same time it prepares for if I’m called up to the first team again.

There is nothing that the West Ham faithful love more than seeing one of our own rise up through the ranks at the London Stadium.

In my opinion, Scarles is the most talented young player to come through our academy since Joe Cole.

He undoubtedly has a really bright future ahead of him, and we should all be very happy that’s he’s committed to a new long-term deal.

Ollie Scarles signing a long-term contract is a much-needed boost for West Ham.
