Harrison Ashby scored a truly shocking own goal for West Ham United under-21s against Wolves last night.
The 20-year-old right-back came on as a second-half substitute for the Hammers against FCSB in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
Ashby was really close to joining Newcastle United on transfer deadline day in the summer, according to The Daily Mail.
And since then, it has emerged that he shares the same agent as Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.

The 20-year-old will be out of contract at the London Stadium in the summer of 2023.
West Ham should be going all out to tie the talented youngster down to a new deal in my opinion.
He really is an unbelievable talent. He wasn’t quite on form last night for the U-21s though…

The young right-back is slowly being eased into action after an injury that he suffered at the start of the season.
After playing 25 minutes in midweek for the senior team, it was back to under-21 duty last night for Ashby.

West Ham beat Wolves 3-1. It was a vital three points for Mark Robson’s side and was our first win of the season after 12 games!
Despite the win though, it was a night to forget for Ashby…

Wow, that really was a shocker.
Own goals happen though, of course they do.
Ashby is still an elite talent in my book, and David Moyes must not let a situation arise whereby he ends up leaving West Ham for nothing next summer.
