Regan Clayton was the architect of a brilliant comeback for West Ham United’s under-21s against Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.
The Hammers under-21s have been in really poor form so far this season and are currently sitting rock bottom of the table on just two points from nine games played.
It could have been a whole lot worse though.
Mark Robson’s side trailed Blackburn 2-0 this afternoon, with only seven minutes remaining in the match.

Enter Regan Clayton…
Regan Clayton saves West Ham under-21s from more pain
Clayton is a really talented young left-back and has really impressed for the youth teams.
The 17-year-old has bagged three goals and two assists in 45 games for West Ham’s under-18s (Transfermarkt).

He is energetic, athletic and possesses really impressive technique for someone so young.
And Clayton announced himself with the under-21s today.
The left-back actually played in more of an advanced role on the left wing against Blackburn Rovers today.
And he almost single-handedly earned his side a point this afternoon.
Clayton provided an assist for Callum Marshall in the 83rd minute before scoring our equaliser in the 87th minute.
The teenager looks like an incredibly exciting young player.
His ability to play in more than one position should serve him well too.
Hopefully he continues the fine form that he showed today for West Ham under-21s. Mark Robson’s side are in a whole world of pain at the moment.
Clayton eased those woes slightly this afternoon, however, with an exceptional four-minute spell.
