Michail Antonio has taken to X ahead of the West Ham United vs Freiburg Europa League second-leg clash next week.
West Ham forward Michail Antonio came on as a late substitute during our 1-0 defeat to Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday night.
It was a really disappointing performance from the Hammers at The Europa-Park Stadion, and David Moyes criticised the poor defending from his players on the night.
There are still 90 minutes left to play in the tie though, and I’m more than confident that we can turn this one around.
Antonio is clearly thinking along the same lines…

Micky is well known for his confidence, and I’m really hoping that his positive thinking rubs off on his teammates ahead of the clash with Freiburg next Thursday.
The last time we lost an away knockout first-leg in Europe was against Sevilla back in 2022, on our run to the semi-finals of the Europa League.
And the Hammers forward took to X, formerly known as Twitter, ahead of the return leg:

The 33-year-old certainly seems very confident indeed, just as he was two years ago ahead of our second-leg clash with Sevilla.
Unlike the game against Sevilla though, Michail Antonio will not start for West Ham against Freiburg in the second-leg, unless one of our dynamic forward trio are forced to miss out through injury of course.
I have to say, I think we’ll comfortably beat the Bundesliga side next week, although there obviously cannot be any room for complacency.
We’re a much better team than them, and if we take to game to the visitors, I just don’t see how they will be able to live with us.
