West Ham United fans will be familiar with the balls used in the Premier League and Champions League, but what about the Europa League?

West Ham missed out on the Champions League but a solitary win last season.

A record Premier League points total was good enough for a sixth place finish and a place in the sleeker, revamped Europa League instead.

Moyes, his players and of course the West Ham fans are excited at taking on a European campaign. Indeed West Ham have been made third favourites to win the competition behind Leicester and Napoli.

They kick things off with a tough test at Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia this evening.

But what ball will they be playing with?

Hammers fans would likely instantly recognise the Nike Premier League ball and the Adidas Champions League ball.

The Molten Europa League official match ball 2021/22

But here’s what West Ham’s stars will be hoping to put in the back of the Zagreb net tonight.

The official match ball of the Europa League 2021/22 is the Molten.

Molten applies technology used in the Vantaggio 5000, Molten’s flagship soccer ball model, in the F5U5000-12 Europa League ball.

“The unique technology minimises water absorption and helps the Europa League match ball maintain its shape, which results in an elevated level of play,” FootballBalls.com state.

“The textured surface and special coating improve Europa League 2021 ball control and accuracy, allowing for more precise passes and shots.”

Let’s hope precision shots are the order of the day for West Ham stars such as Michail Antonio – who is expected to start with Moyes potentially making four changes for the big game.

West Ham fans have been getting in the mood for tonight’s clash with the Europa League anthem song and video.
