There are wildly conflicting reports over a £30m West Ham transfer after new Piotr Zielinski claims emerged in Italy overnight.
Reports have abound in Italy – from the likes of Corriere dello Sport and Football Italia to name but a few – claiming West Ham are seriously interested in Poland and Napoli star Zielinski.
Zielinski scored eight goals and laid on five assists in 42 games for Napoli last season. And in the 2020/21 campaign, he notched 10 goals and 13 assists in 47 games (Transfermarkt).

Corriere dello Sport and Football Italia state that West Ham have made two bids for Zielinski and offered up to €36m (£30m) for the Poland midfield ace, incredibly close to Napoli’s valuation.
It is almost double the original reported offer and suggests the Hammers are serious about getting their hands on the 72-capped star.
But a ‘top level’ insider speaking to Claret and Hugh yesterday claimed West Ham have no interest in signing Zielinski.

However, there are now wildly conflicting reports over the alleged £30m West Ham transfer move after new Zielinski claims emerged in Italy overnight.
According to Sky Sport Italia and Football Italia Napoli are looking at replacements for the midfield ace because West Ham are close to matching their €40m (£34m) asking price for Zielinski.
“The Hammers are not done shopping in Serie A after spending €36m plus €6m in add-ons (£35m) and a 10 per cent cut of the sell-on fee for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca,” Football Italia reports.

“According to Sky Sport Italia, they (West Ham) are ready to meet the €40m (£34m) asking price for Napoli midfielder Zielinski…
“The Partenopei are prepared to part with the 28-year-old for the right price and are looking at alternatives.
“These include Giovani Lo Celso of Tottenham Hotspur and Hellas Verona player Antonin Barak.”
It is strange to have such wildly conflicting reports so close together.
Usually the truth is somewhere in the middle.

And in any transfer negotiations there is always an element of mind games and brinkmanship given the large sums of money involved.
It is like a game of poker at times. Neither side wants to show their hand or allow the opposite party to see their tell.
Let’s hope Moyes and West Ham end up with a Royal Flush.
