West Ham’s hopes of signing Conor Gallagher rest on Chelsea sealing a £105m D-day mega deal claim Sky Sports.

As fans will be well aware West Ham were heavily linked with a move to sign Chelsea midfielder Gallagher in the summer window.

Now with the Blues on a mammoth spending spree, Gallagher is once again being linked with a Stamford Bridge exit and West Ham are reportedly in the mix.

Yesterday Everton’s hopes of signing Gallagher from Chelsea before tonight’s deadline were dismissed because he wants to play European football.

Whether West Ham’s involvement in the Europa Conference League last 16 – and potentially the Europa League again next season if they win it – will fit Gallagher’s criteria remains to be seen.

Yesterday talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook first claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes is again keen to take the 22-year-old from Chelsea.

But West Ham are now said to be one of several clubs interested.

Now it seems West Ham’s Gallagher hopes rest on Chelsea sealing a £105m D-day mega deal claim Sky Sports.

According to Sky Sports, Gallagher’s departure is more likely if Chelsea are able to sign Enzo Fernandez.

“Clubs from across the Premier League have inquired about both loans and permanent deals for the England midfielder…” Sky Sports reports.

“At this point, everything is on the table: a loan, a permanent switch or staying at Chelsea, but a move away is more likely if the Blues complete a deal for Enzo Fernandez.”

Gallagher could be a game changer for West Ham so if Moyes really is serious about signing him then the board must pull out all the stops.

West Ham will be watching the Chelsea move for Fernandez like hawks in the hope it will unlock their chance to sign Gallagher as Sky Sports claim.

If the Blues fail to get that deal done – which seems unlikely given their astonishing transfer conversion rate under Todd Boehly’s consortium – then Gallagher looks certain to remain at Chelsea until the summer.

Especially as it now looks as though midfielder Jorginho could be moving to league leaders Arsenal.
