West Ham United are keen to sign a forward from Wolves in the January transfer window.

The January transfer window will be crucial to West Ham‘s hopes of achieving any kind of success whatsoever during the second half of the campaign.

West Ham have been terrible this season on the whole, and Julen Lopetegui is really feeling the pressure now.

Incredibly though, the Hammers board are apparently still prepared to give the Spaniard more time to prove himself.

The summer transfer window business now looks extremely poor.

And in order to move forward, a couple of top-class additions will be required this winter.

Whilst our latest target might not be in the elite category, he is Premier League proven and he’d certainly be able to do a job for us.

The Hammers are desperately short in the centre-forward department right now.

With Michail Antonio out for the rest of the season, and Jarrod Bowen on the sidelines as well, the addition of a proven centre-forward will be crucial.

And it seems like West Ham are trying to address our striker problem this month.

According to a report from The Telegraph’s Matt Law, West Ham are keen to sign Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves in January.

He has scored 22 Premier League goals for Wolves since moving to Molineux in 2021 – 14 of those coming since the start of the 2023/34 season.

Interestingly, West Ham were linked with a move to sign the 69-capped South Korea international before he joined Wolves.

Hwang is not a bad player at all. He’s a very hard worker and possesses impressive pace.

I actually think he’d offer us something completely different through the middle, and he’d definitely offer us a threat in behind.

The bottom line is West Ham need to sign a new striker in the January window, and we could do a lot worse than Hwang Hee-chan in my opinion.
