Hammers boss David Moyes is clearly keen to bolster his centre-forward ranks next month.

The Scot’s prime transfer target is Bournemouth forward Josh King according to talkSPORT.

It seems as though another name could be on West Ham’s radar, however.

Tutto Mercato Web claims that the Hammers want to sign Graziano Pelle on a free transfer.

The 35-year-old, formerly of Southampton, is a free agent having been released by Shandong Luneng.

West Ham could face competition for the 20-capped Italy international’s signature from Juventus and Inter Milan (TMW).

West Ham fans won’t be thrilled by Graziano Pelle links

The former Saints hitman surely isn’t the kind of player we should be targeting.

He is 35 and has spent the last four-and-a-half years playing in China.

Graziano Pelle is well past his best and the last thing that West Ham need is another ageing player looking for one last payday.

The Italian is a big target man and considering our current financial plight, it would actually surprise nobody if David Moyes brought him to the London Stadium.

The Scot must stick to his guns, however. He has repeatedly insisted that he wants to bring young, hungry and exciting players to West Ham. And if Moyes wants his time in east London to go down as a success, he absolutely shouldn’t be going anywhere near players like Graziano Pelle.
