Nuno Espirito Santo wants the West Ham hierarchy to bring in a new striker in the January transfer window.

After 11 games, West Ham United find themselves in 18th place with just 10 points under their belt.

Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta have scored three goals each in the Premier League, while summer signing Callum Wilson has found the back of the net twice.

With Niclas Fullkrug expected to leave this winter, it has become imperative for the Hammers to bring in another number nine.

Franculino Dju on West Ham’s radar for January transfer window

Having Wilson as their main centre forward was always going to be a gamble, and Nuno is aware that he needs more reinforcements in the final third.

This has led to their pursuit of Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju, according to ExWHUEmployee.

The reliable Hammers news source claims that the 21-year-old forward is among a number of players being considered by the East London club.

The Guinea-Bissau international’s contract at the Danish club runs until 2029, having signed a four-and-a-half-year deal back in November 2024.

Who is West Ham target Franculino Dju?

Dju came up the ranks at Benfica and spent four years at the Portuguese club before moving to Midtjylland.

Given his 6ft frame, the 21-year-old is not just prolific in the box but is also good in the air, making him a threat from set pieces.

Dju’s stats in all competitions this season.

He is currently having the best season of his life and has already found the back of the net on numerous occasions, including three goals in the Europa League.

In the league, he averages at least a goal or an assist every 90 minutes, which is undoubtedly an incredible feat.

Scoring 19 goals in 26 games in all competitions this season is what has put Dju on West Ham’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.

Given the campaign he’s having, the Hammers are unlikely to be the only side who are keeping tabs on him.
