West Ham have re-entered talks ahead of the January transfer amid a development surrounding Niclas Fullkrug’s future.
Fullkrug is out of favour at West Ham, with Nuno Espirito Santo favouring other options ahead of the Germany international.
Since the 32-year-old’s arrival last summer, he has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League, and looks all set to leave in the coming weeks.
Niclas Fullkrug is expected to leave in January. What is your favourite moment of him in a West Ham shirt?
AC Milan may pull plug on Niclas Fullkrug transfer
AC Milan are understood to be the frontrunners to sign Fullkrug this winter.
Massimiliano Allegri is a fan of the German and talks have been held with the striker’s agent over a potential move.
According to Give Me Sport, talks have been re-entered by all parties on Wednesday, 17 December to arrive at a resolution.
Promise David is the perfect replacement for Fullkrug.
Who else can West Ham sign?
However, it’s understood that West Ham United are running out of time to reach an agreement with Milan.
Talks on Tuesday night were expected to reach a final resolution, but that was not the case.
This development has led to Milan being open to walking away from the deal, despite the striker being their primary target.
The Hammers are open to compromising on a loan deal until the end of the season, but want to get rid of the forward permanently.

How much will West Ham save from Fullkrug’s exit?
Fullkrug is earning a little over £50k/week at the London Stadium and if he leaves on loan until the end of the season, that would save the club £1.32million as he is owed until the end of June and Milan are going to cover it fully.
Depending on how he does at the San Siro, the Hammers can demand a transfer fee, unless there is no obligation to buy in the deal.
As things stand, that does not seem to be the case, as Milan are considering a straight loan, but the potential of it being an obligation is part of the current conversation.
Given how things have panned out for Fullkrug with the Hammers, they would be lucky to get anything above £10million from a permanent sale either in January or the summer.
