West Ham United have allegedly made contact to sign Italian striker Moise Kean in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb who claim that Juventus are looking to make a quick turnaround on the 22-year-old hitman.

Juventus have an obligation to buy the Italy international at the end of next season for €28 million (£24 million) but want to trigger that obligation one year early and sign him permanently this summer before moving him on once again, having decided that he is not a part of their future plans.

Signing a top-class striker this summer will be absolutely vital for David Moyes.

If West Ham are to make any kind of progress this season, the Scot needs to bring more competition and cover to the London Stadium for Michail Antonio.

The Hammers face a hectic fixture schedule between now and the World Cup in Qatar and Moyes will need to beef out his ranks if we are to challenge on all fronts.

It seems as though Moyes has his eye on one striker in particular…

West Ham make contact to sign Italian striker

Tuttomercatoweb claim that the Hammers have made an approach to sign Moise Kean this summer.

Quite how much Juventus will be prepared to sell him for remains to be seen but one would imagine that they will try to at least recoup the £24 million that they have to pay Everton for the 22-year-old Italian.

Kean could end up being an excellent addition for the Hammers.

The Italian is an absolute powerhouse of a striker. Sure, he struggled at Everton but his quality is undeniable.

The 22-year-old possesses real pace and seems to be tailor made for this West Ham team.

Kean seems to be the kind of player who just needs an arm round him. And there is no better manager than David Moyes when it comes to getting a tune out of a misfiring striker.

If West Ham have the chance to sign the forward for a reasonable fee, let’s say around £20-25 million, then we think bringing him to the London Stadium would be worth the punt. He is obviously a precociously talented young player. He just needs everything to click.

Some may look at this and think it’s just not worth the risk signing him.

In spite of that, we think that West Ham making contact to sign the 22-year-old striker makes total sense.

Whether or not Moyes decides to properly pursue a move to sign the Italy international remains to be seen though.
