West Ham United fans are really baffled by Brandon Williams rumour

According to a report from The Sun, West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams in the summer.

Some Hammers fans believe that the signing would be a completely unnecessary one, however.

West Ham boss David Moyes is expected to be a very busy man in the transfer market this summer.

The Scot should be prioritising the signings of a top class centre-forward and an established, energetic central midfield player.

It could be argued that we need top class cover at both left-back and right-back as well, however.

The Sun reckons that the Hammers are going down the youth route with a loan deal to sign the 20-year-old Man United ace in the pipeline.

In fairness, that seems like a strange move.

Williams is undoubtedly a top class talent. We already have a young starlet on our hands who can cover both the left-back and right-back positions in the form of Ben Johnson, however.

David Moyes surely has more pressing priorities than bringing in a young full-back on loan this summer.
