West Ham United are set for a busy January transfer window, both in terms of arrivals and outgoings.

Taty Castellanos joined and made his West Ham debut against Nottingham Forest, with Nuno Espirito Santo showing how quickly he plans to integrate his new signings at the club.

With the Hammers in serious threat of relegation from the Premier League, it is important for the hierarchy to back their manager.

Callum Marshall set for West Ham exit

According to the Standard, Callum Marshall will be parting ways with the Hammers in the January transfer window.

West Ham have not sanctioned a permanent exit for Marshall, however, and he will be departing on loan until the end of the season.

Bochum, who ply their trade in Germany’s second tier, will be signing the 21-year-old until June.

He will undergo his medical on Wednesday, 7 January, in the morning, and the deal is then expected to be announced.

It is understood that he could be ready to make his debut for his new club on the 18th of January.

Along with Marshall, Callum Wilson is also expected to leave West Ham in the coming days.

What will West Ham expect from Marshall come June?

Marshall will have another year on his contract at the London Stadium at the end of the season, leaving the Hammers with a decision to make on his future.

Currently, the main goal for him and the Irons will be to ensure he gets regular game time and is given the platform to thrive in Germany.

The league is known for its physicality and that could be what the Northern Ireland international needs in order to take his game to the next level.

As he is a goal-scoring forward, West Ham would want him to hit the ground running at Bochum and not just be a regular goal scorer, but take some responsibility in leading the line and helping them achieve their goals for the season.

Marshall, on a personal level, would also learn how to adapt to life in a new country, and that certainly will have a positive impact on his all-around development.

Once he returns, the hierarchy would then decide whether or not they view as part of their future and a new contract could be presented as well.
