Callum Marshall appears to be on the verge of leaving West Ham in the January transfer window.

The Northern Ireland international moved to the London Stadium back in 2022 and enjoyed loan spells at West Brom and Huddersfield Town.

West Ham kept Marshall in London for the first half of this season and he has made two Premier League appearances.

However, the 21-year-old is expected to leave on loan in the coming weeks.

West Ham receive several approaches for Callum Marshall

According to the Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, West Ham have fielded several approaches for Marshall ahead of the transfer window.

A loan exit is on the cards for the striker amid his lack of game time for the Irons this season.

It’s understood that Bochum, who play in Germany’s second tier, are favourites to secure his services.

However, it is not a done deal as they face competition from a number of clubs.

Marshall has another 18 months left on his deal at the London Stadium, so the Hammers are under no pressure to cash in on him.

The hope is that he gets regular minutes and thrives on loan before returning to the capital ahead of the 2026/27 season.

West Ham may not let Marshall join Bochum

While ensuring that he gets minutes is essential, the Hammers cannot just let Marshall join any club keen on securing his services.

He already has second-tier experience in England and the quality of football in the 2.Bundesliga is not better than the Championship.

West Ham must look for a top-flight club for Marshall, as that would be the best for his development.

The Northern Ireland international has gone toe to toe with tougher players while representing his country and could stake a claim for being a regular at one of the lesser top-flight clubs in Europe’s top five leagues.

Hopefully, sides in the German, Spanish or Italian top flight make a move for Marshall, as he would most certainly be a good signing for them.

The 21-year-old has shown promise and would be able to hone his skills against decent opponents for the second half of the season.
