West Ham United have already been extremely active during the January transfer window.

Taty Castellanos and Pablo joined the Hammers earlier on in the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo is on the lookout for further reinforcements, and West Ham could now end up with four new signings before the end of the month.

West Ham need to bring some new faces into the London Stadium urgently.

How much confidence does the win over QPR give you heading into Spurs? 👀

Oh, how sweet it would be to start to turn things around against them 😍

With seven points separating them and 17th placed Nottingham Forest in the Premier League table, the new signings need to hit the ground running as well.

It seems like it won’t be too long before Nuno has more options available to him.

West Ham transfer news update

If the Hammers are to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season, signing at least two more players will be of paramount importance for them.

The big problem for Nuno is that the squad he inherited is so badly unbalanced.

It could actually be argued that the Hammers need to strengthen all over the pitch.

However, the additions of a dynamic and athletic central midfielder and a top-class centre-back will surely be the priorities for Nuno now.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Hammers are actively pushing to get a minimum of two more deals done before the window closes.

There is, of course, a big gamble associated with West Ham spending money on new signings, given their current position.

However, the owners seem to be ready to roll the dice in fairness to them.

Nuno is said to be frantically trying to bring Alpha Toure to West Ham.

Toure has been heavily linked with West Ham already this month and Nuno is clearly very keen to bring the teenager to the London Stadium from Metz.

West Ham targeting defenders in the January transfer window

Meanwhile, it is claimed that West Ham are ‘stepping up interest in defenders’.

Lucas Paqueta ‘wants to leave West Ham’ in the midst of a relegation battle – what’s your reaction?!

What was the point in this then? 🤔

That will be music to the Hammers fans’ ears.

Nuno has still not presided over a clean sheet since taking the job at the London Stadium.

His West Ham team have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, having shipped 43 goals in 21 games.

Charlie Cresswell is one player who West Ham have been monitoring, while Ethan Pinnock is another name in the mix.

The key for West Ham will be to sign players who actually make them better. There is no point in bringing in bodies for the sake of it.

Their chances of Premier League survival depend on it.
