West Ham United have been linked with numerous players late on in the transfer window, with deadline day fast approaching.

David Moyes has brought Kalvin Phillips to West Ham in the January transfer window, but he’s believed to be in the market for the signing of an attack-minded player as well before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

The Hammers boss has a very strong squad at his disposal, but the addition of one or two more players over the next 36 hours or so could take us to another level entirely.

Inter Milan youngster Valentin Carboni, currently on loan with Monza, has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium this month, with the Hammers having had numerous bids rejected for the 18-year-old.

And now Inter Live have provided an update on the situation. The Italian media outlet suggest that West Ham will have to spend very big if we want to sign Carboni this month…

West Ham told to spend big to sign player before deadline day

According to Inter Live, the Hammers have made two bids for Carboni, thought to be worth €10 million (£8.5 million) and €15 million (£12.8 million).

However, that’s not enough to get the job done, with Inter demanding a whopping €35 million (£30 million) from West Ham for the Argentine teenager.

The Hammers obviously won’t be paying anything like that for an 18-year-old in this window, so it may be a deal that we have to wait until the summer to get done.

The Monza loanee is a huge talent, and has bagged two goals and three assists in Serie A so far this season.

Monza manager Raffaele Palladino recently raved about Carboni, describing him as a ‘jewel’, as quoted by Sempre Inter:

“Talent must be protected. Carboni is a jewel. Now he is ready to prove his worth. I’m not worried about the media exposure as we’re talking about a very serious young man.”

Carboni has incredible technique for someone so young and has the potential to go on and become a real star of the game.

It will be interesting to watch his progression over the next few months out in Italy. West Ham won’t be signing him before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline for the money that’s being quoted, but perhaps we’ll have a pop at bringing him to East London in the summer.
