West Ham United’s January transfer window business appears to be ramping up.

West Ham have already signed Pablo and Taty Castellanos but it’s very clear that Nuno Espirito Santo‘s business is far from over.

With the January transfer window only open for another three weeks, though, the Hammers had better act fast.

Nuno’s squad at the London Stadium is currently incredibly unbalanced and lopsided.

Out of 10, how CONFIDENT are you that Nuno can still save West Ham?

Beating QPR in the FA Cup is a start…

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo of West Ham United attends the post-match press conference during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Nottingham Forest at London Stadium on January 6, 2026 in London, England.

If West Ham are to have any chance of avoiding the drop, Nuno simply has to inject more pace, energy and dynamism into his squad.

With that in mind, it should surprise nobody that the Hammers boss is allegedly keen to bring a real defensive midfield dynamo to the Hammers before the winter window slams shut.

West Ham ready to seal third January window deal

The Hammers owners will know that without significant investment between now and the end of the transfer window, relegation will be almost a formality.

And in fairness to the West Ham board, they do seem to be backing Nuno in the transfer market.

Wiw Sport claim that West Ham are keen to sign Alpha Toure from Metz in the January window.

The Hammers are said to be readying a ‘substantial sum’ for the 19-year-old defensive midfielder.

The talented teenager has huge potential. He has energy and stamina in abundance and his game is built on his outstanding athleticism and dynamism.

Players like Alpha Toure are exactly the signings that West Ham should be making.

If the Hammers do indeed sign Toure, one West Ham player’s time at the London Stadium will clearly be finished.

Guido Rodriguez finished at West Ham

West Ham are said to be demanding £7 million for Guido Rodriguez in the January transfer window.

Nuno admits these four could all be leaving West Ham…

How do you feel about what could be a BIG January overhaul?

The 31-year-old’s move to the Hammers was a doomed deal from the start.

Rodriguez moved to the London Stadium on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

However, it quickly became apparent that he was painfully ill-suited to the robust nature of Premier League football.

While the Hammers probably won’t get anywhere near £7 million for the Argentine, moving him on for a minimal fee, or even on loan, would be a win for the club.

West Ham getting rid of Guido Rodriguez and replacing him with Alpha Toure really does make perfect sense.
