West Ham are preparing a bid for Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard according to a report form Eurosport.
Hammers boss David Moyes absolutely loves the 29-year-old Manchester United man.
Lingard was sensational for West Ham last season during a four-month loan spell at the London Stadium, bagging nine goals and four assists in just 16 Premier League games.
The Sun used one word to describe Jesse’s time at West Ham – ‘unstoppable’.
The 29-year-old returned to Old Trafford in the summer, however, and was determined to reinvent himself at his boyhood club.
That hasn’t happened so far though. In fact he has barely played. And with just six months remaining on his current deal with Manchester United, an exit in January seems like a likely outcome.
West Ham to bid for Jesse Lingard
Eurosport claims that the Hammers are in the process of preparing an offer for the 29-year-old.
I don’t really understand this. Surely we just ask how much Manchester United want for the 32-capped England international and then just pay it or start negotiating?
All this ‘preparing offers’ malarky just makes no sense.
The West Ham hierarchy know just how important Jesse was to David Moyes’s team last season. And they should be moving heaven and earth to bring him back to the London Stadium in the January transfer window.
Man United are said to be demanding around £15 million for Lingard (Daily Mail).
If that’s too much then offer them £8-10 million. If they don’t accept it then move on and sign another player. West Ham cannot afford to sit around and wait for things to happen.
We need two or three players signed and through the door on January 1st.
