West Ham United have been given a boost if they are still keen on AC Milan midfielder Suso.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, West Ham headed into January ready to battle it out with Wolves to sign the former Liverpool man.

The Italian publication claimed the Hammers wanted the 25-year-old Spaniard.

Moyes needs to reinvigorate midfield

David Moyes desperately needs midfield reinforcements and he has been heavily linked with a move for Ross Barkley, a player in a similar mould to Suso.

Manuel Lanzini looks a shadow of the player he once was. And Jack Wilshere has rather predictably spent most of his first two seasons at West Ham out injured.

So it figures that the Hammers are considering a player like Suso. Many fans feel that area is not a priority. But West Ham lack guile and struggle to break teams down and create chances for £45million striker Sebastien Haller as evidenced by recent displays against Gillingham, Sheffield United and Everton.
