Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look-out for a new goalkeeper over the course of the next few months or so.

Lukasz Fabianski probably has only one year left playing in the Premier League whilst his back-up Darren Randolph is no better than an average journeyman, as harsh as that may come across!

West Ham have recently been linked with a move to sign Liverpool stopper Loris Karius (Fanatik and Voetbal 24).

And perhaps Moyes will have a chance to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham target Karius open to Liverpool exit

The 28-year-old German admitted that leaving Anfield this summer is a possibility, when speaking to Bild:

“As of now, I’ll be at Liverpool on July 12th. There is still a lot going on at the moment. Because of the European championship and corona, the transfer market will pick up rather late. I’ll keep everything open and will make the right decision for myself.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is prepared to sell the former Mainz stopper this summer according to The Express.

West Ham surely shouldn’t be looking at signing Karius, however. There are far better options out there for Moyes to explore.

In 29 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, Karius has made 51 saves, 14 high claims and seven catches. He kept seven clean sheets in those outings. The German also made two errors leading to goals for the opposition (premierleague.com).

The Hammers have surely learned from their past mistake of bringing in the error-prone Roberto. Signing Karius from Liverpool could end up being a similarly disastrous move.

Let’s hope that David Moyes no longer has any interest in the Liverpool goalkeeper. He clearly isn’t good enough to play Premier League football at a consistent level.
